After completing a business degree at the University of Augsburg and receiving a doctorate from the University of Kiel, Dr. Toralf Haag joined Thyssen Handelsunion AG in Düsseldorf in 1994.

He was Director Finance, M&A and Corporate Development at the Budd Company Detroit, US, a ThyssenKrupp subsidiary, from 1997 to 1999 before being named CEO of the Stamping & Frame Division there in 2000. From 2002 to 2005, Dr. Toralf Haag served as CFO of Norddeutsche Affinerie AG, today Aurubis AG, in Hamburg before filling the role of CFO of Swiss chemical and pharmaceutical company Lonza Group AG from 2005 to 2016.

Dr. Toralf Haag was CFO of the Voith Group from October 2016 and was then appointed CEO of Voith GmbH & Co. KGaA in October 2018. Dr. Haag has been CEO of Aurubis AG since September 1, 2024.
